Sounding the Siren Study – Recommendations (pdf updated: 7 October 2021)
In the lead up to COP26, the Humanitarian Conflict and Response Institute, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), UK-Med, and Save the Children UK are proposing a Global Humanitarian Climate Action Alliance. The proposed Alliance will draw on the existing work, expertise, and capacity of governments, NGOs, the private sector, and academia to inspire, inform and facilitate transformative action to respond to the most crucial climate challenges. This ambitious vision anticipates public and private financing of $100m per annum for ten years.
Impact17 invites participants to help determine the alliance priorities, architecture, membership, and potential financing model and make calls to action for those attending COP26. This is the first step on the journey to launching the Global Humanitarian Climate Action Alliance.
